No Sweep Rule
A team cannot sweep an individual event (i.e., score all 9 Points). If a team sweeps an event it receives 8 points and the other team gets the third place 1 point. (But the swimmer who actually finished third gets the third place ribbon).
Exhibitions races do not count toward team points.
There are special scoring rules for unopposed races and ties. Talk to a scorer for details (but not during the meets, they are very busy)!
If a swimmer is disqualified (DQ'd) during an event, he or she will not score any team points.
Ribbons
Ribbons
are awarded for 1st through 3rd place in relays
for all swimmers. If
a swimmer is in a relay that is DQ'd, there are no
ribbons awarded to any swimmer. If a swimmer is in a
relay that finishes 4th, 5th or 6th place, there are no
ribbons awarded.
Ribbons
are awarded for 1st through 6th place in individual
events for swimmers 12 and under; and 1st
through 4th place for swimmers 13 and older.
Exhibition
ribbons are awarded for individual
events to swimmers 12 and under.
If
a swimmer is disqualified (DQ'd) from an individual
event, a ribbon will not be awarded.
Ribbons
from the previous swim meet are available for pick up after
race 30 at the
scorer's table. |
