B Conference

In B conference, swimmers earn points for their team by beating their best times achieved during the dual meets. (All times must be non-DQ times, with exhibition times allowed.) B Conference swimmers may participate in 1 to 4 races as determined by the coaches. There are no relays only individual events. Every swimmer that does their personal best earns points for their team. The team score is calculated by dividing the number of personal best by the total number of events swum and then multiplying by 100. (For example if a team swims a total of 160 events and there are 80 personal best, the team score is 50 (80/160) x100)). Each team score is calculated and then ranked. Points are assigned as follows and carried over to A Conference.

1st place - 11 points
2nd place - 7 points
3rd place - 5 points
4th place - 3 points
5th place - 1 point

A Conference

The swimmers for the events at A conference are selected based upon the best overall time for the season. COACHES SET THE LINE-UP FOR THIS MEET. There are two heats for every event, except for relays, with each swimmer seeded based on their best time of the seasons for that event. Points are given out for all ten places in the individual events and for all five places in the relays.
